Narrowly ("the game," "we," "us") is a simple arcade game. This policy explains what information the game does and does not handle. Our approach is to collect as little as possible.
Narrowly has no accounts, no logins, and no sign-up. We do not ask for your name, email, or any personal details to play. Your game progress lives on your own device. The one exception is the leaderboard: if you choose to set a gamer tag, your tag and scores are sent to our server so they can be shown to other players. That is entirely optional — the game is fully playable without it.
To make the game work, Narrowly saves a small amount of data on your device — in your browser's local storage and offline database, or in the app's own storage. This includes things like your best score, your Narrows balance, which skins you've unlocked, your sound preference, and a randomly generated device ID that lets the leaderboard recognise your entry without knowing who you are. A copy of the game itself is also cached so it can run offline. None of this is sent to us except the leaderboard information described below, and all of it is removed if you clear your browser/app data or uninstall the app.
Leaderboards are optional. Nothing is sent to our server until you choose a gamer tag. If you do, we store that tag, the scores you achieve, your total Narrows, which skin you used for a given standing, and the randomly generated device ID mentioned above. We do not store your name, email, IP-based profile, or any advertising identifier alongside it.
Your gamer tag and scores are publicly visible to other players inside the game. Please don't use your real name or anything you wouldn't want shown publicly. Tags are checked automatically for offensive content, which involves sending the tag text (and nothing else) to a third-party moderation service. Players can also report a tag, in which case we store the reported tag so we can review it.
This data is held by our hosting and database provider on our behalf. You can ask us to remove your leaderboard entry at any time by emailing support@narrowly.app with your gamer tag.
The game can generate a “transfer code” containing your own progress so you can move it to another device or into the app. The code is created on your device and shown only to you — it is not sent to us. Treat it like a password: anyone who has it can load your progress onto their device.
We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the game is played in aggregate (for example, how far players get, or which features are used) so we can improve it. If enabled, this data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. It is used only to improve Narrowly.
The current version of Narrowly is ad-free. If we add advertising in the future, we will update this policy first and, where required, ask for your consent. Ad providers, if used, may process limited device information (such as an advertising identifier) to serve ads; you will be able to review and manage this through your device settings and any consent prompt we show.
If you buy anything in the game (for example, "Remove Ads" or a skin), the purchase is handled by the app store (Apple App Store, Google Play, or Amazon Appstore) or the payment provider — not by us directly. We receive confirmation that a purchase was made, but we do not receive or store your payment card details.
If you contact support (by email or through the in-page help), we receive the message you send and any details you choose to include so we can help you. We use it only to respond to your request. If the in-page assistant is used, your message may be processed by a third-party AI provider solely to generate a helpful reply; it is not used to identify you.
Narrowly is suitable for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. No personal information is required to play. The one thing a player can submit is a gamer tag for the leaderboard, which is free text and is shown publicly — we ask that children do not enter their real name or any personal detail there. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
You can clear all locally stored game data at any time by clearing your browser/app data or uninstalling the app. There is no account to delete. If you have set a gamer tag and want your leaderboard entry removed, email support@narrowly.app with the tag and we will delete it.
If this policy changes, we'll post the new version here and update the date above. Significant changes (for example, adding ads) will be reflected before the change takes effect.
